Spring in Texas! (Part 1)

Since I was going to be on travel restrictions by the time summer rolled around, I decided that Logan and I should go to Texas for Easter & Spring Break (one thing good about teaching at a Catholic school out here- late spring breaks combined with Easter.) Unlike last year when Logan could fly for free, I had to get him his own ticket, which sucks honestly. Sure, I could have passed him off as under 2, but he has a big mouth and would probably tell them he was 2 1/2 and I would have to pay lots more at the gate (and I would have guilt for lying).

So Logan and I left Norfolk on Wednesday evening, had a quick (like get off, run to next flight) layover in Atlanta, and landed in Houston after 11. My parents picked us up and brought us to Memaw's. I was so exhausted, Logan fell asleep on the way home, around 1 eastern time, and was very cranky when I went to give him a bath (but he was stinky and I was not sharing a bed with him). He did great on the flights, thanks to the iPad with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes and lots of other games (also, of course he had to pee when we were on the plane; thankful I wasn't too pregnant, cause I had to pick him up, hold his 'thing', and hold my balance. Good times...)

Thursday involved sleeping in and resting. We met my friend Sarah, her daughter Sophia, and Sarah's mom for lunch at a Mexican (of course) joint for lunch, and my mom joined us too. It was a good visit, though Logan got very cranky. We didn't have time for a nap, because he had a hair appointment at Poppy's barber. Logan has had plenty of haircuts, but this one was special because it was with a real barber- Poppy's barber. Poppy met us there, and Logan enjoyed being given lots of attention- and the gum balls after the haircut for being a good boy.

What was great about being in Texas (other than being in Texas), was the perfect spring weather! While I was enjoying the sunny 70 degree weather in SETX, friends back in VA were enjoying rainy 40 degree weather. The mornings were perfect- clear and slightly cool, and Logan took full advantage of being outside.

We met up with Carissa and her son Jackson for lunch Friday at Freebirds (yummmm). I love visiting with friends, just wish the visits could be longer. Friday evening, my cousins came over for pizza at Memaw's, and Logan had a great time playing with his cousins.

Saturday I met my cousins Amber & Theresa for brunch at one of my favorite places in Beaumont, Rao's, and later on I brought Logan to Amber's house so he could play with Gabrielle & Adrienne.
