Here we go Again!

As in the post 'So...Round 2' from May, our family was on its way of going from 3 to 4.

On December 15th, first thing in the morning after hitting snooze a few times, I got up and peed on the stick. I left it sitting on the side of the tub for Joel to see when he got up "Guess Logan's prediction was right." is what he came out saying.

I kept it to ourselves for a little bit...I made my doctor appointment for the following Monday- my first day of Christmas break. it was still sinking in that I was indeed pregnant, and I knew it would take until I saw and heard the little gummy bear for it to 100% sink in. I had my appointment Monday with my PCP, for which they confirmed what I already knew (and the nurse seemed rude "Is this a good thing?" I mean did I look 17 and scared?) Because of how our insurance works, I had to get my doctor to give me a referral to the military hospital. Luckily they worked quick and my first appointment was January 20th- right at 10 weeks.

Tuesday began the real fun- morning all day sickness. Yes, it was back, with vengeance. The rest of that week was pretty miserable. I was so thankful it was Christmas break, and that Logan was still in preschool. I was upset that I was so sick ( I had just begun running and because I couldn't keep anything down, I had to stop), but I also knew that it was a sign of a healthy pregnancy (ironic). So I endured the sickness...even once school started. That was the hard part. Teaching and puking? I ended up telling my principal ((I had already told my sister, and my closest friends), but I had to tell her so that if I had to run out on my students, there was a very good reason. Luckily I never had to (least for the sickness).

I had my first appointment on January 20th. I had to go to an orientation class first (like having a kid is new), but I got some free stuff and got to meet with the dietician. Later I had my first appointment. I got to hear that wonderful sound of my gummy bear's heatbeat, and see it (him). Yes, I cried a little. Its such a beautiful moment and amazing thing. I left my appointment on cloud 9; the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
