So, that is exactly what I did. Joel was gone, so Logan and I decided to take advantage of the beautiful Saturday (Sept. 11)) and go to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. It was the perfect day: clear blue skies and about 78 degrees. My friend Justine and her son, Emerson (5 weeks older than Logan) came with us. Justine has gone to the gardens many times, so she knew the best places to go.
During the summer months, they have fountains for kids to play with. What is more fun than water shooting out of the ground? Emerson and Logan decided from the start that the fountains were their goals, and nothing could stop them. So mommies decided to let them have a few minutes of fun (we thought the fountains would close at Labor Day). We both had changes of clothes, so the boys were free to play. I changed Logan into a onesie and took his shoes off (you are suppose to wear shoes). They had a great time!
After drying off the boys, they were back in the strollers for some goldfish and water. We walked down to the butterfly garden to see, well yes, butterflies. Not to mention some UGLY caterpillars. Logan liked the butterflies, and the flowers.
After leaving the butterflies, we just let the boys run around and play (both mom's got exercise too). We even saw two eagles! I was too slow with my camera to get a good picture though. It was a very nice afternoon, and I look forward to going back soon!
