October is halfway over. Really? Weren't we just celebrating Logan's 1st birthday last week? And now he is 15 months? Crazy!
As I make plans for a visit to a pumpkin patch, Halloween, and other activities, I have looked back at pictures from the 'firsts' of all these things, and can't help but shed some tears. A year ago while watching a football game, he would sit in the bouncy seat for an hour. Now I am chasing him around, and every now and then get a 'touchdown' signal from him (partly due to the lack of touchdowns from my teams). A year ago at the pumpkin patch, he couldn't sit unsupported, had no interest in anything except being outside, and was so much smaller than most of the pumpkins. No telling what this trip will bring, other than running around, excitement, and lots of smiles. Last year's trip to the mountains was relaxing and quiet. No way will we be able to go back and have him spend that much time in the car. Last year for Halloween he just sat there in his costume, the cutest monster ever. This year the monkey will be running around and who knows what else. I just can't believe it has been a year; since all this (the best year of my life, with more to come).
Logan weighs 22 pounds (20th percentile still) and is 31 inches (50th percentile). We get to go back in 2 weeks for 2 shots, including the flu. Its amazing how much this little monkey brings me joy. And so much laughter! Yesterday he decided to randomly put a paper bag on his head and dance around. I have no idea where he learned it but I did manage to get a little on camera. I love how he talks, oh how that boy talks. I have no clue what he is saying, but he has alot to say. He even will walk around with his cell phone to his ear talking, and this morning he was sitting in his car on the phone...I love how he gets so excited when I pick him up from school (though when I drop him off I am lucky if I get a bye bye out of him). I love all the artwork he brings home; I just am running out of room to put it! I love how he wants to do things, copy what others do (sometimes).
Logan loves to be around other kids, playing and be outside. So he is now enrolled in a gymnastics class, once a week on Saturday mornings. This way he gets something fun on the weekends, and I get to spend some time with him doing something different. I will have to have a friend come with me to take pictures.
The vocabulary is just one day going to make it through all that babbling. Nothing new, though 'no' has sometimes entered the talking. 'Pup' sometimes for the dogs. He can't show me his 'tummy' and nose; wash his hair and hands; brush his teeth and hair (even using the cat's comb...)
And he still has me wrapped around is little finger.

Oh Holly! As much as it has been great to see Logan grow up, it's also been just as great to see you grow as a mommy-and what a great one you are! I'm sure being a mother brings about a maturity that nothing else can. I'm so excited to be a part of this journey with you....even if it is TOO many miles away. We love you guys and are so happy for you and your little family. Boy, how time flies....it seems like just yesterday Khyle and I were flying out to meet Logan right after he was born. He's such a beautiful child!
