And not the fun kind, like going down the Comal (which i could so use a trip down tight about now!). No, Logan had tubes place in his icky ears on Monday, bright and early. We had to be at the hospital at 0620. Well Langley AFB is 40 minutes away, so what an early morning! I left Logan in bed until it was time to go, and put a jacket on him and we were off (after a trip to Starbucks). I was nervous, just because he was going under anesthesia. We got to the hospital and got checked in. Didn't take long for them to bring us back. I was thankful for the early morning because you can't explain to a 20-month old why he can't eat... Logan was happy to 'get naked' and put on the gown, but the excitement of the gown was short lived; it was too big so he stripped for the nurses. We spend about 30-45 mintues answering questions and trying to keep the O2 sendor and blood pressure cuff on Logan. Lets just say he wasn't a fan. The ID bracelet on his ankle was an annoyance also. The nurses were really great, as were his doctors. I knew he would be fine. He was flirting with the nurses =) They took him back about 720, and Joel and I went to the waiting room. They would come get me to sit with him as soon as the gas mask was pulled off. I don't think it was even 740 when the doctor came out to get me. He said Logan was a brave little boy and did great! (and had nasty fluid in his ears). I hear him crying soon as I got into recovery, and it took all I had not to cry too. He was so loopy and squirmy, inconsolable at times. I don't blame him; I can't imagine how it feels for baby to feel, well drunk. He calmed down after 10 minutes, me in his hospital bed snuggling him. We were wheeled to another room where Joel could join us. He were there about 30 minutes. We knew Logan was fine when he tried to get all the attachments off again, and asked for juice. And this time he was giving nurses dirty looks. We were home by 930 I think, and Logan was ready to eat. he had a banana on the way home, and ate the rest of the day, whatever I would feed him (mostly Frosted Mini Wheats). After watching his new Elmo DVD and an episode of Sesame Street, I forced him to take a nap (cause I wanted one!) and we both had a good 2 hour nap curled up together. He is doing just fine, and the surgery really didn't phase him one bit!
