Germany: Frohe Ostern!

Happy Easter! I had wanted to go to church with Stephanie, but um, Logan and I slept til 10. Yeah....So we just got up and I made cookies. We were going over to the Scott's for Easter dinner, egg hunt, and hanging out. I was so excited to be spending Easter with wonderful friends (and the fact that I was in Germany was pretty awesome too). Stephanie bought Logan an Easter basket, and he was excited to find lots of goodies just for him!

It was a very relaxing afternoon. There were plenty of toys for the kids to play with. There was cornhole of course, cause what would a gathering be without that? Logan thought the game was fun...he would help each team by retrieving and handing out bags.

Stephanie (S) made a delicious ham, and everyone brought sides. We were not short on food! It was all so yummy! The kids got to make Jell-o jigglers too. Logan enjoyed playing in it. We of course ended the afternoon with a traditional Easter Egg hunt. Now the first hunt of the year Logan did great. This time, however, he knew there was candy inside, so he only made it to the second egg. I had to pick most of his up. There were candy filled, hard boiled dyed eggs, and confetti filled eggs. It was a bit of a speed hunt because some showers were moving through, but the kids had a great time.

Once the hunt was over and everyone inside, a commotion erupted and Brian and Nick sprinted out the door- it was the ice cream man. Now this is not the same creepy ice cream man that drives around our neighborhood. This guy had a dozen flavors that had to be scooped into a cone, and you could get 2 scoops and mix it. It is gelato, not ice cream. And it was yummy! Steph and Brian bought Logan one- his first cone ever! They got him vanilla, and I got a chocolate. Logan was so happy to have his very own cone! He ate the whole thing (well Mommy did have to taste a couple bites), and he really enjoyed it. He decided that eating the bottom first was the better way to go.

We chilled for a little bit so the kids could play for a while longer, then headed home to relax. After all, we had adventures to begin the next day!
